Message of the Week September15-18, 2014 Monday, September 15- Black B Day Tuesday, September 16- Red C Day Wednesday, September 17– Black A Day –2 Hr. early dismissal –summer reading partyThursday, September 18– Red B Day- Advisory Schedule Friday, September 19 –Black C Day Hello, It was a pleasure to see our 7th and 8th grade parents at Back to School Night, your support in your child’s education is always appreciated! Attached with this weekly update is a reminder concerning our arrival and departure procedures. Please review and if there are any questions do not hesitate to contact Susan Polacheck at SPolacheck@aacps.org. Parents new to AACPS or those requesting a new Account can now do so on-line by going to the ParentCONNECTxp homepage and clicking on the PCxp button and then Request an Account. Directions are also available on the site. ParentCONNECTxp is only available for students in grades 1-12. I also wanted to take the time to remind 7th grade parents that if your child’s immunization records are not up-to-date your child will not be able to attend school on Monday, September 15, per the MD Health Dept. A Connect Ed message was sent specifically to the homes of students we do not have current immunization records for last night. On September 17, 2014 there will be a two hour early dismissal for Professional Development. Our staff will be learning more about Student Learning Objectives (SLO). This process focuses on growing each of our students so they are able to meet or exceed the standards. Wishing a wonderful weekend, Ms. Nuria E.   2. 8th Grade Gettysburg National Military Park Field Trip Field Trip permission slips have been handed out to 8th grade students. Permission slips and $30 are due by Tuesday, Sept. 16th to their 2nd period teachers.  8th graders will be visiting Gettysburg National Military Park on Wednesday, Oct. 8th. Please note that students will be returning to the school between 4:30 - 5:00 p.m. Parents will be required to pick up students at Crofton Middle School as students will be returning AFTER the normal 2:50 p.m. bus dismissal. First official informational meeting for the 8th grade French Canada trip will take place on Monday, Sept. 15th at 6 pm in the media. This meeting is mandatory if you plan on attending the trip. If you have any problems or conflicts, please email Madame Chambers at vchambers@aacps.org Parent –Pupil Surveys On September 30th survey forms in self-addressed, stamped envelopes will be sent home with your students. Please complete these forms and return them by US Mail to Anne Arundel County Public Schools on the next school day. This is a Voluntary survey. Thank you for your prompt attention. Band & Strings Ensemble Auditions will take place in class Sept. 17 - 19. Band & Strings Rehearsals will begin the week of Sept. 29th
