  12. Software Installation • Take USB and install the Gimp Program • GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) is an image retouching and editing toollicensed as free and open-source software. There are versions of GIMP tailored for most operating systems including Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X and Linux.

  13. Uninstall Program • Start menu button • Control panel • Programs – uninstall a program • Find Gimp then uninstall

Folders • What are folders – folders are like a storage box for your documents making them easier to find • Make a Word Document with a motto or favorite saying • Click the Microsoft Office Button , and then click Save As. • Type a name for the document, and then click Save. • Word saves the document in a default location.(Documents) • To save the document in a different location, click another folder in the Save in list in the Save As dialog box. If you want to change the default location where Word saves documents, adjust the settings for saving documents.

  24. Firewall Here's How: 1. Open the Control Panel (All Items View). 2. Click on the Windows Firewall icon. 3. Click on the Turn Windows Firewall on or off link in the left blue pane. (See screenshot below)

  26. Media Files • Use USB with Mp4 file and put it on your computer • Double click on the media file to open it up. Fingers crossed it will work • Take note of what the file is being played on. This will be your media player

Saving Work • You may have an M ‘drive’ this is where you can save your work, and is backed up nightly on the BRIT server. • Don’t save your work on the ‘C’ drive because you may not have the same computer again. ‘C’ drive is on the computer memory and is stored there until it is wiped. • Make double sure you have saved your work by putting it on a USB stick.
