  2. The Wonderful World of Politics • This is an exciting time for all Americans! We are given the opportunity to be actively involved in choosing the leader of our country. • Before you begin, it’s good to understand that politics are a hot subject for a lot of people. It is important to remember to be fair and balanced in your research.

  3. Creating A Candidate • Before you begin to put together your candidate’s platform, you will need to get some background on some election vocabulary. Find the definitions of the following words and write the definitions on the worksheet.

Candidate Profile • Check out each candidate ‘s platform by visiting each of their websites. • Candidate's Websites • Take notes on the background, experience, and what each candidate has in his political platform. • Use the information that you have learned to develop who your candidate will become.

  6. Your Candidate’s Profile • Create a candidate profile of someone who is campaigning to be president. • What political offices has this person had in his/her career? • What prior political and leadership experience does this character have that make him/her qualified to be the next president?

  7. What are the candidate’s point of view on these issues? -healthcare -education -the economy -taxes -nuclear weapons -topic of concern to you

  8. Create a Campaign Advertisement Design an advertisement for your candidate that incorporates all the information that will convince voters to vote for him/her.

  9. Organize the information so others can easily read about the candidate.Make the advertisement state what sets your candidate apart from the others who are also campaigning.

  10. Choose how to sell your candidate:-poster-pamphlet-prezi-power pointAll ads must be completed and handed in to me by November 9, 2012.
