  2. STEWARDSHIP PROJECT PREPARATION Is our project a contract or an agreement? Contracts: IRTC- Integrated Resource Timber Contract IRSC- Integrated Resource Service Contract Direct benefit to the government Typically contracts are put out for bid & then awarded to a for profit entity (business) Agreements: • Mutual interest and benefit must be present. • Collaborative effort between FS, partner, and community/stakeholders • All parties contribute to project • Any profit earned under an agreement goes back into the project, or is collected by the Agency for future stewardship projects • Stewardship agreements are negotiated with a community partner (state and local governments, tribal governments and non profit organizations)

  3. Appropriations and Timber Value NOTE: All Retained Receipts can only be re allocated to an approved Stewardship Project.
