  4. Developing the leader Get Set: • Set goals • Know critical objectives • Assess communication skills • Have a basic understanding of Parliamentary Procedure • Use your governing documents • Unit Handbook • Constitution, Bylaws, Standing Rules

  13. Follow Up (Departments) Suggestions for contacts: * Department convention period * After Plan of Action arrives * Prior to the first presentation at department level * Department convention (end of first year of chairmanship)

  14. Other Suggestions Meet for coffee at a local restaurant Offer to work with the new member or chairman on a specific activity or project
