Indications • Cupping has the function of warming and promoting the free flow of Qi and blood in the meridian, dispel cold, dampness, diminishing swellings and pains. move the stagnations. • So it is good for Bi pains caused by wind, cold, dampness on most part of the body- back, arm, leg, abdomen, shoulder, ankle, etc.

  6. Precautions& risk management • Comfortable position for patient. • Enough muscle to put cup on. • Do not put on hairy or bony region. • If the skin is too lose,spread before put cup. • Avoid burning of patient’s skin. • Leave the cups on no more than 10 minutes to avoid blister. • Small blister, leave it there, need to watch out, bigger ones, drain by using sterile lancet, avoid infection. • Be cautious for bleeding attendance patient • No cupping on skin ulcer, large blood vessel, high fever, convulsion and pregnant woman’s low back, sacrum and abdomen.

  7. Wear scarf after tx. Pores are open • 2 cotton balls . Don’t let them fall • Warm rim for cold mornings

  8. Cup cleaning • Put in the bleach water (1:10) for at least 30 minutes. • Clean the oil by using soap water if necessary. • If there is blood, rinse off the blood first, then repeat the first step. • Always wear gloves while cleaning the cups.
