An AAA/SWITCH Project Start in 2008 • SMSCG- Swiss Multi-Science Computing Grid • is a project proposed to the AAA/SWITCH program • is a Working Group of SwiNG • Primary goal: • provide computing resources to solve scientific computational problems • Requirements • Increase the scope from a few partners to a national effort • Enable diverse applications on the Grid • Provide users with Grid and application access • Minimize operational and management issues (sites, users) • Early collaboration with other projects • Increase the scope from a few partners to a national effort • Enable diverse applications on the Grid • Provide users with Grid and application access • Minimize operational and management issues (sites, users) • Early collaboration with other projects • WP4 Monitoring • Monitoring system implemented (v1) • Have test and development installation procedures • Ongoing development of Grid and ARC specific plug-ins • WP5 Security and Policies • Security Policy documents created (AUP + GUP) May: Vital-IT, SWITCH, UniBE (LHEP, ID), UZH (OCI, ID, BioChem) January: UniGe (PIG), UZI October: HES-SO August: CSCS, WSL
