  2. When was she born? • Germaine Greer was born in 1939 in Melbourne, Australia. • Now she is 72 years old.

  3. Early life & career • Education – Germaine graduated from the University of Melbourne, Victoria and University of Sydney (Master of Art), University of Cambridge(Ph. D.) She has very high education. • Her father was a newspaper advertising representative who served in the wartime RAAF.

  4. Why is she famous? • ‘The Female Eunuch’ became an international best-seller in 1970. It was bringing her both adulation and opposition. Some people thought it was very meaningful but some people didn’t. • She is also the author of many other books including. ‘The change: Women, Ageing’ and the ‘Menopause’ in 1991 and ‘Shakespeare’s Wife’ in 2007. • She is professor Emeritus of English Literature and Comparative Studies at the University of Warwick.
