  2. My Family My name is Jean Louis Finch, also known as Scout. My brother, Jem, broke his arm at his elbow. Even though his arm was shorter than the other one, he didn’t care. He could still play football. We argued about what had caused the accident.

  3. The Battle of Hastings It was a shame to some members of the family that we didn’t have any ancestors fighting in the Battle of Hastings which Involved the Norman Conquest of England in 1066. All we had was Simon Finch.

  4. Simon Finch He was a “fur-trapping” apothecary from Cornwall, England. He made his way to America because he wanted to escape religious persecution. In America, he made a “pile practicing medicine.” He soon Fell into temptation and lived the life of luxury. He bought 3 slaves and made his living growing cotton.

  5. Atticus Finch My father, Atticus Finch, Decided to break the tradition and go to college to read law. When he was admitted to the bar, he came back to Macomb to practice law. His first case resulted in the hanging of his clients. Instead of taking the state’s second-degree murder charge, the clients decided for a trial. They were found guilty and punished.

  6. Maycomb, Alabama I describe Maycomb as an old town. When it rained, the streets turned to a muddy slop. It was hotter during a summer’s day. By the end of the day, ladies were “like soft teacakes with frostings of sweat and sweet talcum” (Lee 6).

  7. Calpurnia and my mother Calpurnia has been with us ever since Jem was born. We had battles, and she always won. She always complained about my behavior. My mother died when I was two. She died from a sudden heart attack. Jem missed her because he remembered her.
