  1. US Victory in Europe: Due Date: Tuesday, January 21 in my Teacher Vault Folder • You are to create a presentation similar to the showing the islandhopping in the Pacific. • You are to show US movements and battles from the European theater of operations • Must contain the following battles and events on your map • 1942: US invades Morocco and Algeria • Battle of Kasserine Pass • Invasion of Sicily • Invasion of Italy, landing at Salerno • Battles of Cassino and Anzio in Italy • D-Day/Operation Overlord/US lands in France (1944) • Battle of the Bulge • Bastogne, France • US forces cross the Rhine at Remagen • US army drives east towards Berlin • If you would like bonus points, show strategic bombing routes by the Air Force on Germany and select German cities and locations • Also you can add any naval battles in the Atlantic/sinkings of subs or US ships from 1942-1943 • Those two above would require a little more outside research

  2. More directions • You may use the textbook for assistance. Ch. 19 and 20 • You may use other websites and maps to help create your “Road to victory in Europe” presentation. • Include dates and years for all events on your map. • Make the animation of the powerpoint appropriate for the timing of each battle/event. • Final copy of this map with all information must be turned into my teacher vault folder by Tuesday, January 21 (you have until midnight). • Please only turn in a one page powerpoint (map) • The map is found after this page. Cut and paste it into a new powerpoint. • If you don’t have powerpoint at home to help you can find and use plugins on the web that allows you to create presentations in a similar manner.
