Traditional Washington STARS The Training Online STARS • This training meets DEL requirements for the annual STARS training that is required for child care providers in Washington State. • The Traditional Washington STARS training is entry level training that earns a level 1 or 2 on the STARS professional development ladder. • When you are ready to move on to level 2 or above, we recommend our online In-Service or CDA training to support your continued professional development. Read the Lesson • Read the Lesson FIRST! • A certificate will not be issued if you skip reading the lessons. • Video slide lessons have no sound. • Alternate options for viewing the lesson have been provided if you have trouble with the video loading. • The PDF version is the most likely option to work with iPad or other mobile device. However, this training was not designed or tested to be specifically mobile compatible. Technical support is not available for those that are attempting to use a mobile device. 10. Traditional Washington STARS 2. Sufficiently complete all chapter assignments • There are 3 to 6 chapters in each course. There is 1 assignment at the end of each chapter. The assignments are automated, and you will receive immediate feedback, and opportunities to review the information and to change your responses. • The assignments are intended to help you learn the materials, and gain an understanding of the concepts covered in the training. • Successful completion of the training will require that you obtain 80% or better on all assignments. Student Forum Discussion Board Assignments • There are three required discussion board assignments for each course. • These are generally in chapters1, 2 and 3 of the course. • The link for the forum is on the bottom of the page. • Read the forum question, and post a reply. • You may read and respond to posts by other students. Which means that you can get the fastest support. • When you type in your name and email address it allows us to quickly view your student records. • The chat transcript is recorded in your student records so that in the future we can easily see the record of support. Traditional Washington STARS Can I access any of the courses? • As an enrolled student, you have access to ALL of the courses listed on the menu. • Scroll down and click on the course title to access your selected course. • You will ONLY receive a certificate and STARS credit for the number of hours of training that you have paid for. I enrolled in a course, but I changed my mind and I want to do a different course. • Feel free to select whichever courses that interest you at this time. Orientation

Traditional Washington STARS What if I paid for 4 hours, but complete 6 hours? • If you complete more hours of training than you have paid for, then you will be sent an email invoice to process payment for the tuition due. • Once the payment is received, we will email a certificate to you for the additional hours. Traditional Washington STARS What if I prefer more accountability; something more challenging? • For a higher technology training platform, and more student accountability, you may wish to consider In-Service STARS courses. • If you enroll in Traditional Washington STARS, and decide you want more accountability, we will be happy to transfer your payment credit to In-Service STARS training. • Click on the Live Student Support chat button on the bottom right side of the page, or send us an email and we will be happy to assist you.
