  2. To begin with… • Go to the start menu, right there on your desktop! • Go to “All programs” Created by :- Maryam Shahed -11G1

  3. Moving further… • Go to “Microsoft office” • Click on “Microsoft Office Access 2007” Created by :- Maryam Shahed -11G1

  4. Get started… • After you have opened access 2007, click on “Blank Database” Created by :- Maryam Shahed -11G1

  5. Hold on! • Make sure you save your database before continuing. Browse location-where you will be saving your database. Give a suitable name to your database. Created by :- Maryam Shahed -11G1 Create!

  6. Your new database will appear now! Created by :- Maryam Shahed -11G1

  7. Importing a CSV file… • Step 1-Click on “External Data”. • Step 2 –Click on “Text File”. Created by :- Maryam Shahed -11G1

  8. Step 3 Browse the location of the file. DO NOT MAKE ANY CHANGES HERE. Created by :- Maryam Shahed -11G1 Click on “OK”

  9. Here also, you will not make any changes. • Step 4 Created by :- Maryam Shahed -11G1 Click on “Next”

  10. Select “Comma” Tick this box which makes sure that “first row contains field names”. • Step 5 Created by :- Maryam Shahed -11G1 Click on “Advanced” to make sure that the date format (e.g. DMY,YMD,MDY) matches with the one in your table. Click on “Next”

  11. Select appropriate Data Types For example :-Text, numbers, date/time, yes/no etc • Step 6 Created by :- Maryam Shahed -11G1 Click on “Next”

  12. Select this box if you already have a primary key in your table which says, “Choose my own primary key” • Step 7-Set a primary key. Created by :- Maryam Shahed -11G1 Incase, if you do not have a primary key, select this box which says “Let access add primary key” –a primary key will be automatically added for you!

  13. Step 8-Give an appropriate name to your file • Step 9 Created by :- Maryam Shahed -11G1 Click on “Finish”
