  2. If you take the red pill. You will have to think about UX. • Morpheus: “You take the red pill and you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes.” (AKA become a developer) • You will have to think about UX with the way computing is now. • Kids grow up with iPads now (NOT MS WINDOWS)

  3. Design software/webpages for your audience! • This is scary to normal people!

  4. Content before Chrome • Show the absolute minimum users need to accomplish their mission!

  5. BAD • Don’t allow for IDing of a million layers

  6. GOOD • Don’t have a million layers!!!! • You decide on base mapping!!

  7. Advice for beginners • Become a SQL guru. • Become a Python guru. • Develop native applications for whatever platform is most practical. • In most cases, there isn't a 1 size fits all HTML 5 solution!

  8. Reason why native is better for us. • Location services (higher accuracy GPS) • 3-axis gyroscope • 3-axis accelerometer • Digital compass • Ambient light sensor. • Design for known screen ratios.

  9. I use an iPad everyday and I never use HTML 5 APPs. (tried many) Remember when the Facebook app for iPhone sucked?

  10. More Ref. & Demo Question: Matt, why didn’t you take design into consideration when making this power point? Answer: To lazy. http://vimeo.com/20887305
