  1. Allusions By: Amanda Barwick

  2. 1. Utopia

  3. Example: The novel, The Giver, was written based on a utopian idea. Everyone’s destinies and lives were chosen for them, as well as their feelings. The only people who know beyond that utopia are the Givers. Perhaps this utopia is really a dystopia.

  4. 2. Jekyll and Hyde Personality For this, I wrote a piece. In it, I show the process of someone becoming someone else emotionally. Someone who is not themselves, based on the many cases reported by women throughout the U.S. about their husbands, for it seemed the easiest to relate to. (: Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is an allusion to a novel by Robert Louis Stevenson where a doctor’s experiment causes an evil alter ego to take control of him.

  5. I love you. You’re my everything. I would die for you. I need you. I need us. If you were a flower, I’d pick you. You go to my head like a brain freeze, but that won’t stop me from coming back for more. Sing me to sleep. Your voice is a melody. Sing me to sleep. It’s better than reality. You go to my head like a brain freeze, and my goodness you hurt. If you were a flower, you’d have the most thorns. I need to be alone. I need you to leave me alone. I would die for you, but I won’t live for you. You’re nothing. I hate you.
