The cerebrum is the biggest part of the brain • It makes up 85% of the weight • The cerebrum is the thinking part of the brain • You can’t dance or kick a ball without you cerebrum • You need your cerebrum to do maths problems or figure out a puzzles • Your memory lives inside it • It has two halves, the left side controls the right side and right side controls the left Cerebrum cerebrum

  3. The cerebellumis at the back of the brain and is alot smaller than the cerebrum • It controls balance, movement and coordination • It helps you balance, stand up and move around • A surfer would need his/her cerebellum to stand up on his/hers board Cerebellum

  4. The brain stem is connected to the spinal cord • The brain stem makes you breathe, digest food and circulate blood • It controls your involuntary muscles (ones that work automatically) • It also sorts all the messages that the brain gets from other parts of the body Brain Stem

  5. The pituitary gland is only a size of a pea • It sends out hormones that make yoou grow • It also is incharge of puberty • It helps your metabolism to keep you alive Pituitary Gland

  6. It is like a thermostat in your body • It knows to try to keep your body temperature at 37c • If you get too hot the hypothalamus makes you sweat and if you get to cold it tells you to shiver Hypothalamus
