  9. BUP Centres meeting, Nitra, 19-22 January 2005 Good examples from your centre • We distribute course materials by postal services. • We promote BUP, for instance in the first national TV channel. • In April 2005, at the Festival of Science and Art in Łódź, a presentation dedicated to the Baltic University will be made.

  10. BUP Centres meeting, Nitra, 19-22 January 2005 In 2004 the Centre organised the following conferences: • Baltic University Programme Student Conference „Building the Region”, Borki, 14-18.04.2004 • Baltic University Programme Summer School „Strategy of Water and Lake Protection vs. the Baltic Purity”, Mazury Lakes, 26.07-06.08.2004 • Baltic University Programme Sustainable Water Management Teachers Conference, Łódź, 2-4.12.2004 • Baltic University Programme Sustainable Baltic Region Teachers Conference, Kazimierz Dolny, 8-12.12.2004

  11. BUP Centres meeting, Nitra, 19-22 January 2005 Problems at the centre / network etc. • Shortage of finances: the BUP activity is partly financed by the Technical University of Łódź. • Lack of sources for promotion. • We are in contact with teachers but the information flow between course teachers and students is beyond our control. • Students often resign in the last moment from summer events organised by BUP Centre and disorganise in this way our work and do not allow other students to participate in these events. • Some BUP teachers do not update their data and we often have problems to get in touch with them.

  12. BUP Centres meeting, Nitra, 19-22 January 2005 Suggestions on how to solve the problems • All those who are enrolled on the lists of participants of summer events should pay a fee that will be returned at the beginning of the event?

  13. Thank you for your attention. BUP Centres meeting, Nitra, 19-22 January 2005
