Grade 9 Academic Math(MPM1D0) • In this course, you learn about Number Sense and Algebra, Linear Relationships, Analytical Geometry, and Measurement. • We help you develop generalizations of mathematical ideas and methods through the exploration of applications, the effective use of technology, and abstract reasoning • With this course, you can go onto grade 10 academic math or grade 10 applied math • Academic courses have more emphasis on theory and learning details and facts but still include hands on activities. Grade 9 Applied Math (MFM1P0) • In this course, you learn about Number Sense, Linear Relationships, Measurement and Geometry . • We help you develop an understanding of mathematical concepts related to introductory algebra, proportional reasoning, and measurement and geometry through investigation, the effective use of technology, and hands-on activities. • With this course, you can go onto grade 10 grade 10 applied math. • Applied courses have more emphasis on practical activities with less emphasis on theory. Grade 9 Applied Math for English Language Learners (MFM1PL) • In this course, you learn Number Sense and Algebra, Linear Relationship, Measurement and Geometry . • We develop an understanding of mathematical concepts related to basic algebra, proportional reasoning, and measurement and geometry through investigation, and hands-on activities. You will investigate real-life examples to develop various representations of linear relations, and will determine the connections between the representations. . • With this course, you can go onto grade 10 applied math. • Applied courses have more emphasis on practical activities with less emphasis on theory. Grade 10 Academic Math (MPM2D0) • In this course, you learn aboutQuadratic Realtions, Analytic Geometry, and Trigonometry.  • We  enhance the understanding of relations, extend their skills in multi-step problem solving, and continue to develop their abilities in abstract reasoning. We investigates quadratic functions and their applications; solve and apply linear systems; solve multi-step problems in analytic geometry to verify properties of geometric figures; investigate the trigonometry of right and acute triangles. • With this course, you can go onto grade 11 University Functions. Grade 11 University Functions (MCR3U0) • In this course, you learn about: Characteristic of Functions, Exponential Functions, Discrete and Trigonometric Functions. • We introduce the mathematical concepts of the function by extending students' experiences with linear and quadratic relations learned in Grade 10. • With this course, you can go onto grade 12 University Data Management; Advanced Functions; and Calculus and Vectors. Grade 11 University/College Functions and Applications (MCF3M0) • In this course, you learn about Quadratic, Exponential, and Trigonometric Functions. • We introduce basic features of the function by extending students’ experiences with quadratic relations. It focuses on quadratic, trigonometric and exponential functions and their use in modeling real-world situations. You will represent functions numerically, graphically and algebraically. You will reason mathematically and communicate their thinking gas they solve multi-step problems. • With this course, you can go onto grade 12 University Data Management; grade 12 math for College Technology. Grade 11 Math for Work and Everyday Life (MEL3M0) • In this course, you learn aboutearning and purchasing; saving, investing, and borrowing; transportation and travelling costs. • We enhance your understanding of mathematics as it is applied in the workplace and daily life.You will solve problems associated with earning money, paying taxes, and making purchases; apply calculations of simple and compound interest in saving, investing, and borrowing; and calculate the costs of transportation and travel in a variety of situations. Grade 12 University Data Management (MDM4U0) • In this course, you learn about: Counting and Probability, Probability Distributions, and Organization of Data for Analysis. • We broaden students’ understanding of mathematics as it relates to managing data. Students are expected to carry out a culminating project that is worth 10% of their final mark. • Students planning to pursue university programs in business, the social sciences, or the humanities will find this course of particular interest. Grade 12 University Advanced Functions (MHF4U0) • In this course, you learn about functions and charactersitics of polynomial, rational, trigonometry, logarithm and exponential. • We investigate the properties of polynomial, rational, logarithmic and trigonometric functions; broaden understanding of rates of change; and develop facility in applying these concepts and skills. • This course is intended both for students who plan to study mathematics in university and for those wishing to consolidate their understanding of mathematics before proceeding to any one of a variety of university programs. Grade 12 Foundations for College Math (MAP4C0) • In this course, you learn about Mathematical Models, Personal Finance, Geometry and Trigonometry and Data Management • We develop students’ understanding of real-world applications of mathematics. Students will analyze data using statistical methods; solve problems involving the application of geometry and trigonometry; simplify expressions; and solve equations. Students will reason mathematically and communicate their thinking as they solve multi-step problems. • This course prepares students for college programs in areas such as business, health sciences and human services, and for certain skilled trades.
