  2. Jacques was born in St. Malo, France. The year of his birth was 1491. Jacques worked for the country of France. Cartier died of natural causes in 1557. He also died in St. Malo, France at the age of 66. PersonalInformation

First Voyage • Cartier’s first voyage was to Canada to look for a route to Asia. • He set off to Canada with two ships and a crew of 61 men. • The voyage took place from April 20, 1534 to September 5, 1535. • The areas that he explored, later became known as Newfoundland, Magdalen Islands, and the Gaspe Peninsula.

  4. Second Voyage • Jacques Cartier’s second voyage was when he went to Canada for the second time. • He went to Canada on May 19,1535. Cartier finished his travel to Canada on July16,1536. • Cartier had 110 men with him on the ships. • During his voyage he used three ships. They were the Grande Hermine, the Petite Hermine, and the Emerillion.

  5. Third Voyage • The date of his voyage started on May 23,1541 and ended on September,1542. • Jacques’ voyage was a return trip from Canada. He used 5 ships and carried 1,500 people. • Cartier’s third voyage was a very important voyage because people died and suffered from scurvy. • Cartier became famous for finding a cure for scurvy.
