  2. Setting • Aunt Hyacinth’s country homestead. It has many animals and it looks like any normal farm. • If the setting was different I don’t think the story would’ve been as good.

  3. Characters

  4. Conflict • A ghost is haunting the Goodnight and McCulloch property and it’s starting to hurt people. • This is man vs man but its kind of like man vs ghost

  5. Summary of Plot • Amy Goodnight is intrusted to watch her Aunt’s farm. Amy meets a guy named Ben and hates/likes him. Amy starts seeing a ghost and has to find out what it wants.

  6. Theme • Amy was really scared of ghosts and this was no acception. • Text Evidence 1: Amy sees a ghost and can’t breathe because she’s so scared. • Text Evidence 2: even by the variation of La Llorona. The name yanked tight the coiled knot in my gut, making it suddenly hard to breath. • Text Evidence 3: I remembered nightmares. ( She saw La Llorona.

  7. Point of View • The point of view was 1st person. This point of view is important because it tells us what she think. If it wasn’t this point of view then we wouldn’t get to know what Amy was thinking or thought about things.

  8. Symbolism • A potion symbolizes the Goodnights are witches, but they aren’t bad. They are kitchen witches.

  9. Recommendation • I would recommend this book because it is very spooky and romantic. It is a book you wouldn’t want to put down. It will take your breathe away without you even realizing it.
