  2. INTRODUCTION • Grade 11 is a major decision point • Pathways for post-secondary plans begin in Grade 11 • Grade 11 courses lead to Grade 12 options • Entering the senior years of high school!!

  3. ON-LINE OPTIONS • On-Line Again this year [Dec. 13th –Jan. 9th] • View status of your diploma requirements • View details of successfully completed credits • View your attendance record • Available to you and family anytime of the day

  4. Accessing the On-line System • Available through school website: Google search Erindale Secondary School • Click on the Course Selection button • Log on using your Student Number and the password is your date of birth [YYMMDD] • Detailed instructions are at the website

  5. WHAT DOES THE SCREEN LOOK LIKE?!?

  6. What If I Do Not Have Web Access? • No Problem! • Use the computers at school in the library or the Guidance Department Options Moderns English Math Business Social Science Science Tech Arts

  7. Questions?? • Talk to your Guidance Counsellor • Talk to your Teachers • Talk to your Parents • Talk to your Friends/Relatives

  8. LEVEL OF DIFFICULTY • There are 5 levels of difficulty: • Open [O] • Workplace [E] • College [C] • College/University [M] • University [U] • Be sure you have the prerequisites!

WHAT DO I HAVE TO TAKE?? • English – ENG3E0, ENG3C0 or ENG3U0 • Math – MEL3E0, MBF3C0, MCF3M0 or MCR3U0 • Be sure you have: - Additional English/Language/Social Science/Co-op or Guidance -Additional Phys.Ed./Business/Arts/Co-op -Additional Science/Technology/Co-op • 40 hrs Service = diploma requirement

  13. OTHER CONSIDERATIONS • You still have a chance to start new subjects • Consider Co-op to test drive a career • If you have failed a subject consider summer school, repeating next year and/or changing levels • What pathway are you on? • Ask Questions!!!! Do Research!!!!

  14. CHOOSE WISELY!!! • You must have 8 courses selected • Look at all the elective options • What courses you pick will determine how many sections of each course will run • COURSE CHANGES NEXT YEAR MAY NOT BE POSSIBLE!!!!! • Avoid waiting lists – pick courses you actually want to take!!!!!

SUMMARY • Option selection is an On-Line process available from December 13th to January 9th • Access is through the Erindale Website • You have until January 9th to complete your option selections • You must print a verification when complete and return it signed to your homeroom teacher by Wednesday, January 11th • Forget your password? - see your counsellor
