Origins • Cracked was originally a magazine that was created in 1958 In 2005, then Cracked owner Dick Kulpa sold the magazine to a group of investors who wanted re-launch the magazine as well as a website.-This was a failure Cracked.com launched as a separate website under editor-in-chief Jack O’Brien, a former ABC News producer. the Cracked website gained popularity and was purchased by Demand Media in June 2007. • It grew in prominence after merging with another popular humor website, Pointless Waste of Time.

Readership • This blog is strictly a humor website that includes a blog, videos, forums, a writer's workshop and “photoplasty.” Cracked.com has over 300 million monthly page views. 3.4 million Facebook likes and 800,000 twitter followers It is currently the most visited humor site in the world

Target Audience • Age: 17-34 • Gender: Male • Education: High School- Post Graduate • Income: 20,000-80,000 • Location: North America Generally targets a male population between late teens and mid thirties. Also talks a lot about video games and popular trilogy's such as Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and etc..

Felix Clay • Has been writing for Cracked since 2012 • Has a sarcastic sense of humor, and very self-deprecating as well • Uses mid-level vocabulary • Uses light profanity • Most blogs are in list format, and generally fairly long • Blogs about nuances, pop culture, personal stories, food and “shocking” facts • Begins blogs with brief intro and than leads into the list • Felix like most writers does not reply to comments and sometimes even writes disclaimers (many cracked writers do this) after a controversial statement is said telling them that they know that comment will irritate some, but here's the reason they said it.
