  1. Have you ever been quite seriously ill ? Did being ill make you different from what you are normally like ? Being ill makes us rely more on other people – we need them to show us love and care.

  2. Jesus the Healer Rank the illnesses in Jesus day, from the hardest to bear (at the top), to the easiest to bear at the bottom. Make notes about each one. Explain which illness you think would be the worst one to have, in Jesus’ day. To describe how Jesus healed people To explain why Jesus healed people To evaluate what Jesus’ healing proves about him.

  3. Choose one of the most serious illnesses. Why would their self confidence drop? What difference did it make to them when Jesus healed these people ? **What did Jesus ability to cure even the worst diseases prove about him?

  4. Curing the Paralysed Man mark 2:1-12 • What did Jesus prove by healing the man? 2 things. • What could this story help you to understand when you go to confession? • Draw a picture of Jesus healing the paralysed man. • Speech bubble what Jesus said. • Speech bubble what the Jewish priests might have thought after they saw this. A paralysed man was lowered by his friends through a hole they made in the roof, because they believed Jesus could heal him. When he saw the man, Jesus said : “Your sins are forgiven”. The Jewish priests were shocked to hear this. No one can forgive sin, except God. Jesus knew this is what they were thinking, so he proved it to them by making the man well again.

  5. Look up a healing miracle of Jesus. Write it up, then explain why you like it. Be ready to present !

  6. Curing the Man born Blind What effect does the man’s healing have on him ? Jesus didn’t just have healing power to “make things better”. He actually did the impossible – people who never saw in their life– were given sight.
