  1. HOW TO SAFELY POLISH YOUR CAR Car polish generally removes grease, dirt and scratches that cannot be removed by washing. So car polish is required. It contains solvents which will remove impurities from car’s paint and allow the paint to shine through. Car polish is used before you apply the wax coat. Polishes are available in varying degrees of abrasiveness. A good polish will consist of what is referred to as diminishing abrasives.
