The National Archives and Records Administration Motivation Applied Research Division, Office of Information Services • OAIS adopted by digital preservation communities • Institutions begin declaring themselves “OAIS-Compliant” • Section 1.5 ( ROAD MAP FOR DEVELOPMENT OF RELATED STANDARDS ) included an item standard(s) for accreditation of archives

Begins work on drafting standards • June/July 2011: Working Group conducts Test Audits • 6 Repositories: 3 in Europe, 3 in the U.S. • Includes KDLA

The National Archives and Records Administration ISO 16363 Applied Research Division, Office of Information Services • Based largely on TRAC • Organizational Infrastructure • e.g. The repository shall have a documented history of the changes to its operations, procedures, software, and hardware. • Digital Object Management • e.g. The repository shall have access to necessary tools and resources to provide authoritative Representation Information for all of the digital objects it contains. • Infrastructure and Security Risk Management • e.g. The repository shall have procedures in place to evaluate when changes are needed to current software.
