  2. Outline • Define Oracle GoldenGate (OGG) • History • Properties • Project Overview • Projects’ Steps • ERD • Q & A

  3. Define Oracle GoldenGate (OGG) • Oracle GoldenGate is Oracle’s strategic solution for real time data integration. • Gives a nonstop availability and access to the real time data. • Translational data between operational and analytical systems. • OGG will filter, route, verify and deliver transactional data in real-time across Oracle and heterogeneous environments.

  4. History • GoldenGate Software Inc founded in 1995 in San Francisco. • Founders: Eric Fish, Todd Davidson. • Originally designed for the fault tolerant Tandem computers. • Oracle acquired GG in September 2009.

  5. Properties • Data is sent in “real-time” with sub-second speed. • Support heterogeneous environment. • High performance with low impact. • Flexible modular architecture. • Reliable and extremely resilient to failure and data loss.

  6. Project Overview • Build an application-Java based to transfer database to/from different environments • Heterogeneous operating systems and Database i.e. • Linux • Windows Xp

  7. Projects’ Steps • Get two VM-Ware machines • Install Linux, Windows XP • Install My MySQL, Oracle SQL • Install OGG • Create Database • Implement Java App
