  4. National Parks Service • Under Department of Interior • Manages national parks, monuments, and historic sites • Carries out educational programs

  5. Environmental Protection Agency • Under Department of Interior • Sets safety standards for air, water, land, and chemicals

  6. United States Forestry Service • Under USDA • Manages and cares for nations woodlands and forests

  7. Soil Conservation Service • Under the USDA • Provides technical expertise to the public • Promotes soil and water conservation

  8. Agriculture Stabilization Agency • Under the USDA • Provides funding for technical services for land owners constructing water and soil conservation structures • Provides payments to farmers to take highly erodible land out of row crop production
