  3. Observation Log Observations: Date: 9/5/98 11/11/98 1/4/99 Jennifer did a great job in the microscope lab. I’d like to see her continue her interest in science. J’s research in Feminist literature, seemed to foster her writing efforts. We had some good conversations. J got ready for Advanced Placement tests. Discussed college plans with parents in conference.

  4. Assessment of Project #2 Subject: Biology Project Grade: B+ Project’s Date: Jan. 21,98 Evaluator: Mrs. Norriss Evaluation: Evaluation Criteria/ Rubric/ Objective/ Comment: Project Title: Cell Observation Lab Marginally exceeds standard Student will diagram the structure of a frog cell after observing it on a microscope. All parts need to be labeled correctly (80% accuracy required for standard) See next screen for assessment comments.

  5. Cell Observation Lab Project Title: Project #2 Comments Project Description: Draw the cells observed in the microscope lab Mrs. Norriss Evaluator: Jennifer did a nice job on this. The parts are all labeled correctly, although she did forget to include two parts. Many students had problems with this challenging assignment. She included views at both 40X and 400X as required. Comments

  6. Summary Assessment- Biology Class Subject: Biology Final Grade: A- Evaluation Date: 3/20/99 Evaluator: Mrs. Norriss Evaluation: Evaluation Criteria/ Rubric/ Objective/ Comments: Student: Jennifer Walters A- Jennifer has a real flair for science. She did a very thorough job on her microscope lab and cell lab. She exceeded all Common Curriculum Goals and met the state’s standards for 11th grade Biology.

  7. Evaluator: Mr. Abrams- Guidance Counselor Date: 3/23/99 Summary Comments- Portfolio Jennifer’s portfolio is a good exhibit of this young woman’s achievement, progress, and creativity. She has some definite opinions about things and this is indicated in her essays on feminism. She chose only to include those essays and not some other one’s that her English teacher thought were technically better. She has a real aptitude for science but says she does not want to pursue that line of study. I recommend that she include this portfolio with her college applications. She should be on track to meet the district’s graduation requirements next year. Comments
