  2. constantly • To do something constantly means doing it all the time. • What was Cinderella constantly required to do by her stepmother and stepsisters? • If your little brother or sister cries constantly does that mean all of the time or just some of the time.

  3. melancholy • To be melancholy means thinking about something that makes you sad. • Name something in the story that made Cinderella melancholy. • For each item below show a happy face or a melancholy face. • Your puppy is sick. • You found five dollars. • The weather is bad and you have to play inside.

  4. squabble • To squabble means to argue about something that is not very important. • Name something the Cinderella’s stepsisters squabbled about in the story. • Would you squabble with a friend if you wanted to do the same thing or different things?

  5. amazed • When you are amazed, you are very surprised at something that is done or said. • Which character amazed Cinderella with her magic wand? • If some of these things I’m about to say are amazing, say “That’s amazing!” If not, make an “X” with your arms. • A cow flying over the moon • A car driving down the street • A snake as along as a school bus • A brick building
