Graduation Requirements 4 – English credits 4 – math credits (including specifically Algebra) 3 – science credits 1 credit in World History 1 credit in U.S. History ½ credit in American Government ½ credit in Economics 1 credit in Hope 1 credit in fine arts class 10 electives Total of 26 credits

  4. Graduation Requirements (cont’d) 2.0 GPA Passing score (Level 3) on Grade 10 FCAT reading Volunteer Hours – NOT Required for graduation but needed for scholarships Foreign Language – NOT Required for graduation but required for college

  5. Grading Policy Credits and grades are awarded on a semester basis Point system: A 18-20 B 13-17 C 8-12 D 5-7 F 0-4 Two D’s and an F is not passing

  7. Attendance Students can not have more than 9 unexcused absences each semester or they will receive credit denial. Grades do not matter. A phone call and/or a note is needed to validate every absence. If your child goes to the doctor, dentist, or to court, make sure he or she turns in the documentation so those days are excused. If a student is credit denied, there is an appeal form that must be filled out. Credit recovery is not guaranteed. Attendance 377-1830

Bright Futures The Florida Bright Futures Scholarships are three different lottery-funded scholarships to reward Florida high school graduates for high academic achievement.   To be eligible, the student must be a Florida resident and a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen. Must meet specific coursework and minimum grade point average (GPA) and test score requirements (this year it is a 26 on the ACT) www.floridastudentfinancialaid.org/ssfad/bf/
