Adult Learner Characteristics • Bring accumulated life experience • Have established opinions and beliefs • Goal oriented…look for relevant instruction • Learn at different rates and styles • Learn best in a collaborative, participatory setting • Expect to be treated as adults • Autonomous and self-directed
