  2. Tier System Tier Two Teacher referral to Team or House. Short term suspension (1-10 days) Tier Three Team/House Referral to Administration. Possible long term suspension (11-30 days) Tier Four Immediate Teacher referral to Administration. Possible long term suspension (up to 365 days) Tier Five=Expulsion Tier One Teacher Administered Consequences

  3. Rules 1-5 are Tier I Infractions (Except where violations of Rule 1 may result in Rule 7 violation)

  4. #1 - Attendance You are expected to be here everyday! Attendance will be taken each class Once you are at school, you are expected to go to EVERY CLASS and be ON TIME to every class. You MAY NOT miss more than 10 days for the entire school year.

  5. #2 Food and Drinks You may only have food and drinks where they are allowed throughout the school (cafeteria). No food or drinks allowed in the classrooms or gym.

  6. #3 Medication If you need to take medication at school, it must be given to the school nurse. DO NOT transport medication (prescription or over the counter) to or from school. Have your parent/guardian bring it to the nurse.

  7. #4 Dress Code Wear shoes and shirts at all times Do not wear clothing that contains abusive, suggestive or profane language, symbols of illegal drugs, or any other words, symbols or slogans that disrupt the learning environment 4. All clothing must be worn in an appropriate and tasteful manner as originally intended by the designer. For example, belts should be worn around the waist, shirts or headbands should not be around the neck, ect.

  8. #4 Dress Code • The following items will NOT be worn at school: • Flip flops • Bedroom shoes/slippers • Pajamas • Pants worn below the waist or showing clothing beneath the main outerwear. • Shorts/skirts/dresses or slit above the fingertips when standing erect with shoulders relaxed. This means that shorts, shirts and dresses must be approximately knee length. • Shirts exposing the shoulders and stomach, being excessively tight, see-through or low-cut in the front or in the back.

  9. #4 Dress Code • The following items will NOT be worn at school: • Cut-off shirts, midriffs, tank tops, basketball jerseys with out a shirt underneath, tops with spaghetti straps, halter tops, sleeveless shirts/dresses/tops with straps thinner than 2-3 inches. • Headgear (scarves, bandannas, stocking caps, hoods, hats, towels, sunglasses, doo-rags, combs and other items worn on the head without direct permission from an administrator.) • Long chains/necklaces, rosary beads without explicit religious purpose and consent from parents, or carabineers.

  10. #4 Dress Code • The following items will NOT be worn at school: • Exposed undergarments • Extreme styles of hair color (i.e. bright red, green, purple, etc.) • Facial piercings with the exception of ear rings • Skinny jeans that fall below the waist • Leggings or jeggings • Bracelets with inappropriate messages If not properly dressed, students are subject to being sent home. Repeated violations( more than 2) of the dress code policy will result in an out of school suspension.

  11. #5 Personal Property You should only bring supplies and items that are needed for the school day. Cell phones should be off and out of sight for the entire school day. This includes the bus. iPods, MP3 players, any other electronics or toys should be off and out of sight. Any electronics being used during the school day will be confiscated and held at the office for 7 days.

  12. Rules 5-10 are Tier I or Tier II Infractions (Except where repeated violations of Rule 9 may result in a Teir III infraction)

  13. #6 Misreprensentation • Do your own work! • Teachers know when the work you turn in is not yours. Ask for help if you need it! • Do not alter report cards or notes • Do not give any false information to anyone. • Cheating will not be tolerated! If you are cheating or helping someone cheat, the same consequences apply.

  14. #7 Insubordination • Follow directs and instructions from all teachers and staff members at school. • Do not walk away when being spoken to. • Speak to all people in an appropriate manner. • What is appropriate and inappropriate? • Complete all of your assigned work.

  15. #8 Bullying/Profanity/Obscenity • Saying, writing, implying, or gesturing any profanity, offensive language, or phrases is not allowed. • This includes texting, drawing, or speaking. • Do not use language/phrases that are racial, offensive, derogatory (put someone else down), bullying, or send an indecent message. • No bullying or harassing by any adult or student will be tolerated.

  16. #9 Generally Disruptive Behavior Do no be disruptive in class or on the school bus. You should be prepared for instruction at all times. Do not talk in class or move from assigned seat without permission. Do not throw objects, horseplay, harass or tease other students, or make rude noises. Keep you hand and feet to yourself at all times.

  17. #10 Trespassing Do not enter school property or facility without permission. This includes coming on school grounds while suspended or expelled.

  18. Yellow Page Infractions Rules 11-33 are Tier III, Tier IV, or Tier V Infractions

  19. Rule # 11-13 Unsafe Action/Vehicle Use/Gambling (Responsibility/Caring/Citizenship)

  20. Rule # 11-13 Harm’s Way and Self Medication: Keep yourself and others SAFE! Sorry- you’re too young to drive….but when you’re old enough, BE SAFE! A student will not play games of skill or chance for money or property.

  21. Rule # 14-16 Vandalism/Fire/Theft (Responsibility/Caring/Citizenship/Respect)

  22. Rule # 14-16 Do not destroy what doesn’t belong to you…be courteous! Do not set fire or attempt to set fire to anything on campus. A student will not steal or possess stolen goods.

  23. Rule # 17-20 Breaking and entering/burglary/ robbery/extortion (Responsibility/Respect/Citizenship)

  24. Rule # 17-20 A student will not break into any district property. A student will not unlawfully enter any district property with the intent of committing a felony, to steal and/or take and carry away the property of another A student will not take, threaten or attempt to take the property of others through intimidation. A student will not take or attempt to take another person’s property by force or violence.

  25. Rule # 21-22 Unauthorized Use of the Computer/ PORNOGRAPHIC, PROFANE AND/OR VIOLENT MATERIAL (Honesty/Respect/Citizenship)

  26. Rule # 21-22 A student shall refrain from inappropriate use of school system computers or from using the CMS Internet site without proper authority. A student shall refrain from having any pornographic or profane material in his/her possession

  27. Rule # 23-25 Counterfeit Currency/False Alarm/Bomb Threat (Honesty/Respect/Citizenship/Responsibility)

  28. Rule # 23-25 A student shall not distribute, produce or use counterfeit currency. A student shall not make any report or notification, knowing or having reason to know the report is false (verbal or written), indicating the presence of a bomb or explosive device on school grounds, school bus or at any school activity. In the absence of an emergency, a student shall not call 911, signal or set off an automatic signal indicating the presence of an emergency.

  29. Rule # 26 AGGRESSIVE PHYSICAL/VERBAL ACTION (Respect/Caring/Justice and Fairness)

  30. Rule # 26 A. Verbal Confrontation/Provocation ~A student shall not approach another person in a confrontational, provocative or bullying manner. B. Fighting ~exchange of mutual aggressive physical contact between students, with or without injury, is prohibited. (It is not self defense to hit the attacker back and participate in the fight.) C. Threatening/Intimidating ~A student shall not threaten to strike, attack or harm any person D. Assault on a Student ~A student shall not physically attack another student.

  31. Rule # 26, CTD… E. Assault on a Staff Member ~ A student shall not physically attack a staff member or adult. F. Inciting to Riot/Chaos ~A student shall not engage in behavior of a violent or aggressive nature in an area that could result in a riot, widespread chaos or aggressive actions G. Refusing to Disperse ~A student who witnesses an incident under this rule shall disperse (spread out) at the request of staff members H. Participation in a Civil Demonstration ~A student shall not disrupt the school day by participating in a civil demonstration, including leaving campus without permission

  32. Rule # 27 SEXUAL BEHAVIOR (Respect/Caring))

  33. Rule # 27 A. Offensive Touching ~A student shall not engage in unwanted touching of an offensive or sexual nature B. Sexual Harassment ~A student shall not engage in unwanted verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature which may reasonably be regarded as intimidating, hostile or offensive. C. Indecent Exposure ~ A student shall not intentionally expose private body parts, including but not limited to “mooning.” D. Consensual Sexual Activity ~A student shall not engage in consensual sexual activity. E. Sexual Battery: ~A student shall not engage in sexual activity or attempt against another person by force, threat or fear.

  34. Rule # 28 ALCOHOL, TOBACCO, AND OTHER DRUGS (Responsibility/Citizenship)

  35. Rule # 28 A. Alcohol ~A student shall not possess, use, distribute, or be under the influence of any kind of alcohol at a school function. B. Marijuana ~A student shall not possess, use, be under the influence of marijuana or have any drug paraphernalia at a school function. C. Drugs/Illegal Substances ~ A student shall not Use, influence, possess, sell, or distribute any illegal substance. D. Tobacco ~A student shall not use, sell, distribute, or possess any tobacco product.

  36. Rule # 29 Weapons and Dangerous Objects (Responsibility/Caring)

  37. Rule # 29 A Student must not possess, handle, transport, or use any weapon. Prohibited items include, but are not limited to: A. Toy knife B. Weapon not capable of propelling a missile C. Knife D. Box cutter/ razor blade E. Camouflaged weapon F. Object thrown from a bus G. Ammunition H. Fireworks I. Bomb J. Air soft Gun K. Any object that could cause injury

  38. Rule # 30 Gang and Gang Related Activities (Responsibility/Caring/Justice and Fairness)

  39. Rule # 30 A. Clothing ~Wearing, possessing, using, distributing, displaying, or selling gang affiliated materials is not allowed. B. Communication ~This includes verbal and non verbal communication related to gangs. C. Vandalism or Destruction of Property ~For example- Tagging D. Intimidation/Threats E. Coercion ~Trying to get other students to intimidate others F. Solicitation ~Trying to convince someone to join a gang G. Conspiracy ~Planning with others to violate this policy,

  40. Rule # 31 Firearms (loaded or unloaded) (Responsibility/Caring) A student shall not possess, handle, or transport any handgun, rifle, starter gun, shotgun, or other weapon which will or is designed to expel a projectile.

  41. Rule # 32 Persistently Dangerous Students (Responsibility/Caring/Justice and Fairness) Students that are 16 years or older shall not frequently be a part of violations of school policies or cause danger to others in the school environment.

  42. Rule # 33 Refusal to Allow Search (Responsibility and Honesty)

  43. Rule # 33 A. Search of an Individual and his/her possessions ~A student must cooperate with and may not get in the way of a reasonable and authorized search. B. Search of Student Lockers and Desks ~These are the property of RRMS and may be searched when needed. C. Search of a Vehicle ~Student vehicle’s may be searched when on property.
