Summary • PCIM-03 was distributed January 19 • Several issues were raised, and addressed in PCIM-04 -- these will be listed below • PCIM-04 was distributed March 9 • One issue was raised -- resolution will be discussed below • Net: WG consensus reached on soon-to-be-published PCIM-05 (barring any new issues today) 47th IETF

  3. Changes in PCIM-04 • Discussion of "declarative" vs. "procedural" updated. • General discussion of roles (and their roles in the Policy Framework:-) updated. • New PolicyRoles property added to PolicyRule. • UCS-2 encoding for CIM strings explained more fully. 47th IETF

  4. Changes in PCIM-04 • Character set & encoding for CIM class names clarified. • Changed encodings of PolicyTimePeriodCondition mask properties from strings to octet strings. • Clarified encoding of OIDs for ConstraintEncoding and ActionEncoding properties. • Expanded the names for several of the association classes and their reference properties. 47th IETF

  5. Changes in PCIM-04 • Updated Acknowledgments section. • Updated Security Considerations section. • Updated References section. • Made various minor editorial fixes. 47th IETF

  6. Issue with PCIM-04 • Semantics and syntax for the time-range properties in PolicyTimePeriodCondition class should match those specified in RFC 2445 (iCalendar) • Subsequent discussion revealed that there may also be an issue with the representation of time zones in the ApplicableTimeZone property 47th IETF

  7. Proposed Resolution • Accept the proposed changes to the time-range properties, but leave the time zone representation as it is • TimePeriod property: period-explicit syntax from section 4.3.9 of RFC 2445; still need to decide on representation of “open” ranges • TimeOfDayMask property: Thhmmss/Thhmmss 47th IETF

  8. Next Steps • 2 week WG last call on PCIM-04, as amended with the changes discussed above • Issue updated PCIM-05 shortly • Reissue Policy Core LDAP Schema • Reach consensus on QoS Policy information model • Work with IPSP WGon IPSec Policy information model 47th IETF
