  1. What is the Difference Between Balayage and Highlights?

  2. Gone are the days when having highlights meant having to spend huge hours in the salon as your stylist uses a cap or crocheting needle to work wonders. Today, the list of hair highlights has grown to include stuff like Balayage, ombre, and somber. So, this guide explains the difference between these to stay updated with the trend.

  3. The highlights - When clients ask for streaks in their hair, they request heavy blonde pieces to be inserted into their dark mane. On the other hand, highlights are placed on a small section of the hair and are lighter than the existing hairs. Many people believe that only blondes can seek these offerings, but it is wrong. The highlights are simply a lighter color insertion technique your hairdresser uses to introduce shades like copper, red, brown, etc. To do this, your hair is placed strategically around the head in a foil before actually coloring these from roots to tips. Using foil helps to keep the process within the appropriate levels of brightness. The Balayage - It means to sweep in the French language. In this method, your Hairdressers a color to paint or sweep onto the sections using a freehand application. The color is painted to the sections on the mid length or ends while staying away from roots.

  4. Such technique begins at the nape and leaves out a thin bottom section. The same is then worked up around the midsection and ended at the top parts. The effect is thicker than highlights and is only a few shades lighter than the base shade. It adds depth and dimension to the hair to attain a beautiful sun-kissed look. What is the difference between Balayage and Highlights? With the balayage technique, the color is painted from the mid-length to the ends, but with Highlights, the same is saturated with color from roots to the ends.  If you wish to have a balanced yet blended look that is soft and feminine, then the balayage is perfect for you. For an intense and lightened appeal, choose highlights.

  5. Since highlights put shades on the roots, these need maintenance and touch-up frequently. It helps to keep the roots covered every few weeks as they grow. On the other hand, balayage allows hair to grow more naturally so that there is more space between your colouring appointments.

  6. As your hair's color will fade away after a specific period, you should consult a kapper who can provide coloring services. It would be best if you got your hair colored by a professional as soon as the existing color has faded away. Besides, it is highly recommended to make your visit in person. On your first appointment, you'll get an opportunity to take a look at their salon's ambiance and the types of services offered by them. You'll get a chance to learn the skills and etiquette of their manpower and the type of hygiene quotient maintained by them. You must be able to develop a cordial bond with the kapper you've chosen. It will allow you to raise your inquiries and point out attributes that look satisfactory.
