  2. Background • April 14, 2009: Council directs staff to assess a proposed Transit Center near Downtown Metrolink Station • On August 20, 2009: Update to Transportation Committee and direction to staff to initiate a feasibility and design study (Study) in conjunction with RTA and RCTC

  3. December 1, 2009: City, RTA and RCTC meet to coordinate project, with City as lead agency February 5, 2010: City issued RFP March 5, 2010: Four qualified proposals received Background

  4. Feasibility Study • City, RCTC and RTA interviewed the four firms following review of proposals • April 22, 2010: Staff will present a recommendation to Transportation Committee for consultant selection with concurrence from RCTC and RTA

  6. Feasibility Study • Study Area properties include: • RCTC’s Downtown Metrolink Station and surplus parking lot • City and Agency land assembly parcels • Public Utilities water well site

  7. Six month study will address feasibility, conceptual Transit Center design, traffic impacts and costs Consultant selection and contract award for Study to be considered by City Council May in 2010 Feasibility Study

  8. Multi-ModalTransit Center • Quarterly updates will be provided to the Transportation Committee during the Study • Final report will be presented to the City Council, RTA Board and RCTC Board in December 2010
