History and creation • Review of current training offer within LA – targeted Training Directory • GRID – membership and external funded training –audit of provision across Derbyshire • Development of a VCI Training Directory – with some overlap e.g. First Aid • The initial training was based around the CWDC Common Core Skills and Knowledge and the CWDC Induction Standards • 5 core sessions identified and an initial pilot was carried out in NE Derbyshire and South Derbyshire – initially this was externally funded • In 2010 DCC embedded the training within its core provision • In 2010 the passport gained IIQ status with NCFE • 2011 The Derbyshire Volunteer Passport was rolled out across Derbyshire • Nov 2011 – Volunteer Passport Licence launched in London

  5. Volunteer Passport • 5 sessions: • First Aid • Health and Safety • Safeguarding • Equality, Diversity and Inclusion • Involving and Consulting with Young People

Quality • Ofsted – adhere to inspection teaching and learning quality requirements • Occupational competencies – skills and knowledge • Qualifications – PTLLS, CTLLS, DTLLS or equivalent • IfL membership • Investors in Quality recognised status • competencies • moderation • consistency and standardisation • review and evaluations • Awarding body requirements for centre approval

Passport Licence Offer * Buying into the Volunteer Passport is a cost effective way for any organisation to: Equip volunteers with core training Retain and respect current volunteers Recruit new volunteers Confidence and skills First steps to career pathways Meet your Big Society and localism objectives
