    6. Define: 1. Foundation Knowledge & Skills: Essential skills/21st century skills 3. Cluster – A Course that could fit more than one pathway with a cluster. The skills taught in such a course could be applicable in more than one cluster. 4. Pathway – A course particular to a specific pathway within a cluster 5. Sequence of career and technical education courses – a series of 3 or more courses in which technical and academic education are integrated, and which directly relates to, and leads to, both academic and occupational competencies. Must be 3 credits at the secondary-level. Describe model: Education System- secondary & postsecondary/academic & technical 6. Fields- way to organize the 16 clusters 7. Clusters- secondary 8. Pathway- secondary & postsecondary 9. Occupational Specializations- postsecondary Personal Plan of Study – Individualized plan of study for a sequence of courses and identified career objective. American Careers and Kansas Career Pipeline trainings. KSDE website. Programs of Study – Incorporate secondary education and postsecondary education elements; include academic, career & technical content in a coordinated, non-duplicative progression of courses. May lead to a industry recognized credentialing or certification at the postsecondary level, or associate or bachelor’s degree. Each cluster is divided into career pathway, which are more specific slices of the job market Requires flexibility for students Requires a number of units related to that pathway as well as complementary electives Define: 1.
