  1. SOCIAL MEDIA SITES AND CHILDREN By Jack Hedges

  2. MY REASON My research question was: DO AGE RESTRICTIONS ON SOCIAL MEDIA AFFECT USAGE OF CHILDREN? My reason for choosing this question was to see if KS3 students listened to what they were told online

  3. THE METHOD I handed out questionnaires to gather my info. THEY WEREN’T HAPPY.

  4. ANALYSIS OF DATA

  5. QUANTATIVE DATA (YEAR 7) Qu.1-Are you on a social media site? The graphs show that more boys are on social media sites than girls Girls Qu.2-Do you obey the age restrictions ? The graphs show that people felt okay to say that they ignored the age restrictions . Boys Qu.8-Do you listen to the advice of online safety? The graphs show that some people don’t listen to the advice there are given.

  6. QUANTATIVE DATA (YEAR 8) Q1 Are you on a social media site? The graphs show that all of the year 8 boys are on social media sites. Girls Q2. Do you obey the age restrictions? The graphs show that the numbers didn’t really go up from year 7. Boys Q8.-Do you listen to the advice of online safety? The graphs show that people are still not listening to the advice they are given online.

  11. QUESTION 10IF YOU DON’T HAVE AN ACCOUNT WHAT WOULD COMPEL YOU TO GET ONE?

  12. QUANTATIVE DATA (YEAR 7) Q3 “Age restrictions are useful” Q7 “Social media sites should only be used for talking to ‘real’ friends”

  13. QUANTITATIVE DATA (YEAR 8) Q3 “Age restrictions are useful” Q7 “Social media sites should only be used for talking to ‘real’ friends”

  14. My conclusion I have realised that the basis for this research question is that ‘Do Key Stage 3 students do as they’re told?’ which (if you ask any of the teachers near you) the answer is most of the time no. But they do realise online safety is for their own good and so they don’t do anything that gets themselves seriously hurt or in a lot of trouble.

  15. Any Questions? Thank You
