Goals Integrate the Academic and Industry Expertise and Resources to Provide Distance Learning Based Education and Outreach Programs Produce Knowledgeable and Skilled Workforce for the Grape and Wine Industry in the Mid-America Region Academic and Outreach Programs Academic Program Offered through West Plains & Partner Campuses Web-based courses and field experiences leading to Certificates & Associate of Applied Science Degrees Support From National Science Foundation – Project Funding of ~$750,000 for 3 years University and other Educational Institutions MO Wine & Grape Board – Administrative Support Viticulture & Enology Science & Technology Alliance (VESTA)

Grape Genomics Research Program Goal To identify the genetic characteristics of grapes that will enable the development of high quality and high yield grape varieties for the Mid-America region. Research Team Missouri State University University of Missouri – Columbia Danforth Plant Science Center Support From University – Personnel, Facilities & Equipment U.S. Department of Agriculture – Project Funding $170,071 for 2 years

MVEC Management Group Provides Oversight of the MVEC Grape and Wine Program Ensures that the University is progressing towards achievement of the outcomes projected for the contract period Provides input on plans for following year. Identifies and resolves issues related to the program Participants – recommended participants Chair of MO W&G Board & Chair of Res. Committee Dean and Assoc Dean, College of Nat. & Appl. Sci. Ex-officio Executive Director of MO W&G Board Director of MVEC Arbitration Disagreements that can not be resolved by the Group will be submitted for binding resolution by the Director of the Missouri Department of Agriculture

Charles Sturt University NICC, SCC and Other Educational Institutions Industry - Vineyard and Winery Experts from MO, IL, IA & OK Need to Develop 3-5 Year Plan Incorporating Goals, Programs and Support Viticulture Science and Technology Alliance (VESTA)

Advisory Committee Provides guidance on the development and implementation of plans for the Mountain Grove Cellars Winery and Distillery Training for Winery Workers Commercial Operations Participants Winemakers Business and Marketing Expertise Community Representative Need to Develop Business and Marketing Plans with 3 - 5 year Goals Mountain Grove Cellars

    15. Advisory Committee When possible, provides advice and comments on proposals for grape and wine research Receives Updates on Progress of Research Projects Participants Research Community UM Columbia Danforth Plant Science Center Other University Research Leaders Industry – MO W&G Board Representative and others from the wine and grape industry Grape Genomics and Integrated Pest Management Programs
