  1. Ion temperature fitting routine (TFITS) in C-Mod Jungpyo(J.P.) Lee and Darin Ernst Acknowledgements: Yuri Podpaly, Michael Churchill, Igor Bespamyatnov, Catherine Fiore, HIREX team, edge CXRS team, and core CXRS team Turbulence meeting 08/09/2011

  2. Properties of “TFITS”-version 1.6.1 • Type “tfits” in the command line on C-Mod workstation • 4 additional tabs in the menu of “NFITS” (Combined, core, edge, Ti vs time) • Retrieve HIREX(Z,W) data and CXRS(Tor, Pol) data from MDSplus • Timebase: use HIREX timebase (and interpolate others) • Core: b-spline, Joint: cubic-poly, Edge: tanh or polynomial • Edge CXRS cutoff : remove the abnormal edge data • Core HIREX offset: compensate the offset of HIREX by edge Ti from CXRS or edge Te from TS • Error bar, fit all, save, restore, compare with Te • Smoothing in time or radius • PRETRANSP: include Ti data from save file by “TFITS” • Use “/home/jungpyo/transp/ti_fit.pro” and modify the path for save file in the code

  3. Demonstration

  4. Issues and Future Plan • More Ti sources: • HIREX: \SPECTROSCOPY::TOP.HIREXSR.ANALYSIS.HELIKE.PROFILES.Z:PRO • Edge CXRS: '\dnb::top.mit_cxrs.results.active.POLOIDAL.temp’ • Core CXRS: '\dnb::top.roper.results.b5.temp_pol' • Neutron Ti(0): ‘\PARTICLES::TOP.NEUTRONS.GLOBAL.RESULTS:ion_temp' • Selection of timebase, and detection of noise or invalid data • Error analysis(Monte Carlo: already built in TS electron density analysis) • Development for toroidal rotation profile • Program error: Contact me(jungpyo@mit.edu) or Darin(dernst@psfc.mit.edu)
