  4. What would happen if I put less load on my generator? Any generator can function at a lower load and that might not cause any problems in the short run but it might prove to be harmful for the engine in the longer run. Running of any Dg set on less than 30% load for longer period of time, might cause sealing of cylinder. which will eventually increase the amount of carbon residual inside the combustion chamber.

  5. What would happen if I put less load on my generator? Also, a reduced load can also lead to lower combustion, eventually leading to higher soot formation. Residual unburnt fuel, due to poor combustion, can clog the piston rings in the engine and hinder its smooth functioning. To avoid such problems, companies generally suggest utilising 70-80% of the full load to the generator for its optimum efficiency and unrestricted functioning. Hence, it is not advised to oversize the generator because it's not just uneconomical, it also reduces the efficiency of the generator.
