Exhibit A • All Exhibit A must include: • Description of the Route • Name of the County • Usually included in title text • Maximum and Nominal Voltage • Also usually found in title text • Beginning and Ending Points • May or may not be the termini • Termini Located in Other Counties • New and Amended petitions must list all counties involved in the project

Exhibit A • The Route Description must provide: • Right-of-way type and length for each line segment • Preferred method provides a ROW and length for each segment of line • e.g. …along One Road in the public ROW for a distance of 1.2 miles… • Statement in header that the line is entirely on public ROW is acceptable if accurate. • “Unless otherwise noted” may also be used but is problematic. • This is not recommended in most cases.

Exhibit A • The Route Description must provide: • Section, Township and Range • Must designate all sections traversed by the line • Section designations include township and range information • Section T&R listing may refer to previous T&R if remains the same for multiple Sections • e.g. in Section 32, said township and range • Detail to 1/16 Section sufficient in most cases • Corner or side of ¼ of ¼ Section • Quarter Section in conjunction with Road margins

  5. Exhibit A • Common Problems • Missing ROW type • Public, private or railroad • Termini in other counties not provided • Termini may not be the same as the end point • Total line length does not equal sum of segments • Total length not required on Exhibit A

Exhibit B • All Exhibit B must include: • Starting and ending points • Show which side of a road or railroad the route is on • Name and location of all roads shown • County name(s) • If ends at or near a county boundary must include both county names • County and section boundaries • Section numbers • Township and range numbers • Township and range boundaries

Exhibit B • All Exhibit B must include: • Name and corporate limits of cities in map area • Location and names of major streams, bodies of water, and natural or man made pertinent features • Name and location of railroads • Nominal voltage and ownership of all underbuild and other circuits on the route • Locations must be shown on the map

Exhibit B • Exhibit B for New or Amended Petitions also require: • All electric lines within 6/10 mile • Define if overhead or underground • Provide nominal voltage and ownership name and address • Usually provided in legend or key • Locations must be shown on map • All lines to be removed or relocated shall be designated

Exhibit B • Exhibit B for New or Amended Petitions also require: • Location of pipelines (not water) within 6/10 mile • Provide ownership name and address • Location must be shown on map • Name and boundaries of public lands, parks, recreation areas, preserves and wildlife refuges • Ownership information for railroads

Exhibit B • Exhibit B for New or Amended Petitions also require: • Ownership name and address for telephone, communication, and cable television companies with facilities within 6/10 mile of the route • Location of these facilities do not have to be shown on the map • Ownership name and address for rural water districts within 6/10 mile of the route • Location of these facilities do not have to be shown on the map

Exhibit B • Problems to watch for: • All symbols and acronyms must be defined • Use care in selecting line symbols to reduce confusion • Make sure that symbols are clear and legible on the map • Scale can be no smaller than 1” to 1 mile when printed on 11 x 17 paper • Print out pdf files before loading to the EFS to confirm will meet minimum • Move section numbers if covered by route • Location of underbuild must be clearly understandable • Check all roads for proper identification • Watch out for short roads entering from off map
