  6. a functional disconnect a Funding Window • A grants-making mechanism to build capacity so civil society NGOs can engage fully in field • Could be funded by PDPs working in microbicides putting a % of money they raise from government donors

  7. Civil society engagement: • Helps research avoid pitfalls • Maintains accountability • Mobilizes new public resources • Facilitates communication • Increases trust in communities We need each other!
