  4. GIS/RS in ALD • Early 2003 GIS/RS has been introduce in Kiribati • MELAD • Coconut resource assessment (ALD) • In 2009 a short training conducted • Vegetation mapping • MapInfo & MapBasic, Access Database (MO) • 2013 Coconut Resource Assessment carried out

  5. Completed Work • Mapping of vegetation cover for each islands • 17 from the Gilbert islands • 8 from Phoenix islands • 8 from Line islands • Coconut inventory assessment • North, South Tarawa and Abaiang
