Our Project: Design A British Restaurant for ‘X Town’ • We’ve been asked by a large company to create a concept for a new chain of ‘British’ restaurants and we have to present our ideas to them.. • Questions to consider… • We know what a restaurant is…but what is a British Restaurant? …Something that serves British food? • What is British food?....What does the word ‘British’ mean?

  3. Fish ‘n Chips & Chicken Tikka Masala?

  4. ? Haggis??? Christmas Pudding??? Jamaican Rice and Peas??? Full English Breakfast???

  5. How can we sell the best dishes to suit customers?

  6. Food on demand from around the globe? Or seasonal, local produce?

  7. What dishes would we include on our menu? • How can we cater for everyone in ‘X Town’? Should we cater for everyone in our town? • What is our competition from other restaurants? • What should our restaurant look and ‘feel’ like?

  8. Group tasks • Group 1 – Interior Design • Group 2 – Menu Creation •Group 3 – Staffing and management •Group 4 – Customer Service Remember – every aspect has to be described as ‘British’!
