  2. Using the Calculator to Find the Determinant of a Matrix

  3. Example 1 • Evaluate the determinant of the matrix.

  4. 1. Press 2ndx-1 button • 2. Arrow over to EDIT

  5. 3. Press ENTER • 4. Change 1 x 1 to 2 x 2

  6. 5. Enter the elements from example 1into the matrix. • 6. Press QUIT and go to the Matrix Menu again and arrow over to MATH.

  7. 7. Press 1 for determinant • 6. Go to the Matrix Menu, press 1, close parentheses, and press ENTER.

  8. Read all of p. 204 through Example 2.

  9. Example 2 • Do Guided Practice #4.

  10. Read about Cramer’s Rules on pp. 205-206 to Example 4.

  11. Example 3 • A. Do Guided Practice #6. • B. Do Guided Practice #7.
