  1. Hazardous Hurricanes By Taylor

  2. Where does it happen? • Hurricanes usually occur on beaches or in the water along the eastern states including parts of Texas, Florida, Virginia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, South and North Carolina, Delaware, New York, Pennsylvania, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Rhode Island and Connecticut. Sometimes we, even in the Midwest get strong wind and rain after a hurricane.

  3. The tan color means they often hit, the blue is strong wind regions.

  4. How often does a hurricane occur?

  5. How they form • Cold air blows in a downward motion while hot air blows upward, that causes it to spin. The middle forms a circle or eye.

  6. Extreme conditions • Houses can crumble to the ground. • Flooding • Being struck by lightning • Failing to evacuate and drowning • Two hurricanes colliding as it has before

  7. How to scale a hurricane

  8. Effects of a hurricane Before After

  9. Key terms to a hurricane • The eye- the center of a hurricane • Storm surge- how high the water is raised in a hurricane • Wind speed- how fast the wind blows
