    3. When to Evacuate Keep current on Weather Conditions Hurricanes can develop anywhere on the ocean. Some start in the Eastern Atlantic, and as close as off the coast of Freeport. Timelines have many variables H Hour: The time in hours before Tropical Storm Force winds touch the coast. On Atlantic storms the countdown starts at H-120 Storms that form off the coast of Texas can have as little as 24 hours from the formation to landfall.

    6. H-48 Hours County Judge will issue Mandatory Evacuation orders for All Zip Zones in Brazoria County for a Catastrophic Hurricane Approaching the coast.

    7. H-36 Hours The City of Houston issues Mandatory Evacuation Orders for its Surge Zip Zones. Contra flow starts on I-10 West.

    22. Bell County has developed a Shelter Network of over 25 shelters and staff. Moderate Sized Shelters not Mega Shelters. Special Transportation for local use from shelters. 2500 person capacity for Brazoria County citizens in place now.
