  2. The History • The camp first began as a camping area for African-American children in 1936. The original organizers included Georgia New Farmers of America, Boys Clubs of America, Boy Scouts, 4-H, & YMCA

  3. More History • 1938: First Camping Session • Camp Named for Dr. John Hope, President of Atlanta University and early supporter of building a camp facility • The first campers had no electricity • Mr. Alva Tabor and Miss Daisy Lewis were instrumental in making camp improvements

  4. Where is Camp John-Hope? • In Macon County • Near Fort Valley & Perry • 226.14 acres of land • Beautiful forest land • On scenic Lake Lasseter

  5. Joint Camp Dates • June 11-15 • June 18-22

  6. Joint Camp Information • $10.00 deposit due on May 18 • $65.00 due on arrival • Camp shirts: $5.00

  7. Facilities • Miss Daisy’s Guest House

  8. Facilities • A new cabin with heating and air conditioning and quad-rooms.
