  4. HISTORY • Formed in 1995 • One of only three bike teams in the US at the time • First bike team in Florida • “Rails to Trails” initiative

  5. HISTORY • Team started with twenty members • Training In-House • ALS equipment included LifePak 10, medications, & oxygen • Approved by the Office of the Medical Director

  6. HISTORY • Initially patrolled West Orange Trail • Extended to include International Drive and Blanchard Park • Special events

  8. PROGRAM OVERVIEW • 10 Bikes, 25 Members • Capable of responding to emergency calls • Carries medical equipment • Staffed with current OCFRD employees • Deployed to various types of locations

  12. DEPLOYMENTS • Bike Trails- West Orange and Blanchard Park • Utilized during high volume events • Promoting bicycle safety • Life safety education • Citizen assistance, bike repair, water

  13. DEPLOYMENTS • Florida Mall - Utilized during peak holiday times • First year utilized due to increase in traffic • Severe allergic reaction patient • Double Trauma • Quickly handled two small fires

  14. DEPLOYMENTS • International Drive • Respiratory distress call at the Olive Garden restaurant • Dehydrated patient requiring ALS administration of fluids
