  2. Live Like We’re Dying Today’s objective is to make one responsible choice about how you use your time—a choice that will make a positive impact on your life and/or the lives of those around you.

  3. Live Like We’re Dying Live like We’re Dying is a song about using time responsibly. The lyrics remind us that a lifetime is limited and that within our time we have the opportunity to make positive choices or “throw it all away.” Ultimately, this is a song about truly living every second and avoiding regret. Play the video.

  4. Live Like We’re Dying • Reflection Question #1: • Allen sings, “So if your life flashed before you/What would you wish you would've done?” Write about a choice you have made, an opportunity you have missed, a time you could have done something to make things better but didn’t. Write about something you have taken for granted in the past but wish you had not.

  5. Live Like We’re Dying Reflection Question #2: Allen also sings, “We only got 86,400 seconds in a day to/Turn it all around or to throw it all away.” Think about today and tomorrow. What can you do to make sure you do not waste your minutes? What positive action can you take?

  6. Live Like We’re Dying Quick-Write Directions: Respond in writing to both reflection questions. Write nonstop without concern for writing conventions. The writing is a thinking tool and the time is strictly for thinking. (4 minutes) Read over your reflections. Underline your most interesting ideas—those that you want to share with a partner.

  7. Live Like We’re Dying 1. Locate your partner. Number yourselves #1 and #2--#1s speak first. 2. Demonstrate respect by listening actively and beingcourteous(four L’s plus “thanks”): *Look: face partner, make eye contact *Lean: lean forward and nod as appropriate. *Listen: demonstrate listening by repeating (some of), summarizing or commenting on what your partner said before you speak. *Low Voice: use a partner voice—loud enough for your partner but not others, to hear. *Thanks: Thank your partner for sharing his/her ideas. Be prepared to share either your own or your partner’s idea.

  8. Live Like We’re Dying Closing Thought: Being more responsible about how we use our time is a choice we can all make. Each of us can choose to be a more positive about how we treat ourselves and others. Closing Response: Thumbs up or down Thumbs up if you could use your time differently to make sure you have no regrets tomorrow. Thumbs up if you couldmake one responsible choice about how you use your time that will make a positive impact on your life and/or the lives or those around you. Thumbs up if you willmake that choice…
